The figures may suggest that more and more people all over the world are actually turning from nasty to nice, from sour to sweet, over time. This is the thesis of psychologist and Harvard College Professor Steven Pinker, whose book, The Better Angels Of Our Nature: A History Of Violence And Humanity, contends that humans are actually becoming less violent with time, and that the current period we live in is the least violent ever.
